South Africa assignment

UNOMSA
(United Nations Observation Mission in South Africa) (1994)

The job was to provide an international monitoring of the electoral campaign and to deploy international observers for the first multi-racial election in South Africa. I worked in Kwazulu Natal with its wonderful landscape and some time violent clashes between ANC and Inkata supporters.

I feel that the UNOMSA was a crucial help to insure a peacefull transition to a multi-racial democracy and in any case it was a great fun to visit the remote polling stations and assist with few advices here and there.
